Our little glow worm in the bili bed

Emma's first hat was considered biohazard - perhaps Patrick's right and I birthed a super hero!

It's been a big day for Emma. In the middle of the night she had a little bit of a temp and after stealing my baby for hours (seriously, like 2), poking her, and doing some tests, we found out she's a bit jaundice and a little dehydrated. :o( So she's been getting a little formula to supplement breast feeding and has had to stay in a bili bed aside from feedings. She's a little champ, soaking up the rays and giving us chances to rest, but it's definitely hard to keep her out of our arms! She's back in the nursery as I write this being poked a bit more, hopefully coming back able to spend more time out of that crazy little bed.
We're expecting a few more visitors today and plan on being discharged tomorrow morning.
What an adventure for your first two days on the planet! Get some good rays--I'll bet the zoo is looking forward to meeting you tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations sweet Katie and Steve, little Emma is precious and this too shall pass. I know it's hard to be apart, but it's almost over......you will never sleep again my little friend (hard to believe you are all grown up and a mother now)so happy your mom and dad are there to share in all the joy.
